GUEST BLOGGER..........DEBRA WEBB
TODAY IS RELEASE DAY FOR POWER BY DEBRA WEBB.................I am THRILLED to have her GUEST BLOGGING TODAY...........I am a HUGE FAN GIRL........... She is AN AMAZING WRITER......PLEASE HELP ME WELCOME HER TO BITCH..........
Strength and POWER…I am woman!
Who is the strongest woman you know? Would you call her a warrior? A woman who loves completely and who will fight to the death for those she loves and what she believes in? A woman who gives as completely as she loves and one who is as reliable as time itself? I don’t know that I meet all those criteria but earlier this year I was awarded the first annual L.A. Banks Warrior Woman Award at the RT Book Lovers convention. It was an amazing moment and I was so proud to share it with the man of my heart, my husband of 38 years.
You see I suffered a tragic injury two years ago and I lost most of the use of my right arm and hand. Despite being a writer and using words in my work every day it is difficult for me to find the right words to convey the horror, the pain, the fear I and my husband suffered those first few months. In truth, I was reasonably sure my career as a writer was over. After all, you need two good hands to do the job. My arm and hand will require extensive physical therapy for the rest of my life. When the dust settled from the injury I was facing an enormous challenge. Eventually, with the help of my husband and many dear, dear friends I learned to work with what I had. I dabbled with Dragon Speak. I worked endless hours trying to make my useless right hand react to the orders from my brain. In the end, I came to a workable compromise to get the job done. I’m a lot slower than I used to be and I get distracted a lot more easily. But I’m still here doing what I love and that’s what matters. I refused to give up and that’s what counts.
Every single day there are women who stand up to the challenges of life. For some the challenges are far greater than for others, but we stay strong and somehow we make it. We care for our children and make a house a home. We share our lives with our mates and we, if we choose, strive for excellence in our careers. So I’m no different than you or the millions of other women around the world who awaken each morning to do what we must do. I’m no hero and I’m certainly no one special except to my family. I’m really just an average, everyday woman who does what she must to get through the day with the chores of being a housewife and mother and author and whatever else a particular day requires of me. As a woman, you know exactly what I mean.
In my new Faces of Evil series, I strived for the same in my main character Jess Harris. She meets the challenges that every day brings. She isn’t a mother and, at forty-two, that’s another challenge for her. Did she make the right decisions in the past? What if she’d decided on family before career twenty years ago? What if she’d come back home and married the man she really loved rather than charging off to become Special Agent Jess Harris with the Federal Bureau of Investigation? What if she hadn’t screwed up with that last case and ended up destroying her career? And what in the hell is she to do now? Like the rest of us, Jess figures it out. After all, she’s a woman!
When the first two books in the Faces of Evil series, OBSESSION and IMPULSE, were released both received dozens of five-star reviews on Amazon. Both rose to the top ten of Amazon’s top 100 bestselling romantic suspense list and stayed there for months! And New York Times bestselling author Cindy Gerard said, “Move over Jack Reacher, Jess Harris is coming to town!” I was blown away! Having my character likened to tough guy Jack Reacher was truly flattering.“…readers won’t be able to resist,” said New York Times bestselling author CJ Lyons. And now the third book in the series, POWER, has been released. RT Book Reviews magazine gave POWER four and a half stars and said, “Jess Harris doesn't have to go looking for trouble--it finds her. Jess is one of the toughest, smartest, most stubborn lady cops to strut the pages lately, but Webb's given her just enough vulnerability to keep her likable. This third entry in the Faces of Evil series is a hard-to-put-down police procedural with pitch-perfect voice, well-developed characters and a setting that is as much a part of the cast as the protagonists”
I’m hoping you’ll find Jess to be the kind of strong woman you love to read. I also hope you’ll check out my new website, www.thefacesofevil.com, and perhaps become a person of interest. All during September there will be lots of great prizes in celebration of POWER’s release. Today, I’d love to hear about the real woman you feel is a warrior woman or tell me about your favorite strong heroine in a book you’ve read. One lucky winner will receive digital copies of all three of the Faces of Evil books AND the winner will be featured as a Suspect on my Faces of Evil website making her eligible to win a Kindle Fire or Nook Color or a leather bag like Jess Harris carries ($250 value)! So don’t hold back!
AGAIN PLEASE WELCOME THIS FABULOUS LADY...........
HAVE A FAB DAY!!!!!!!
