The old adage is "Don't judge a book by its cover” But we all know its usually what draws us to the book.

Soo what covers attract you the most to a book....
Is it the hot men?

 Or covers with both the hero and heroine?

Or are you only into the Cute Covers?

Or do your taste tend to run to the spicy side..... Warning some of these may require battery operated relief.

So tell us which cover just melts your panties ladies. I don't think I've seen a Lorelei James cover I haven't melted over.  Or do you have a favorite cover model?? I'd have to say right now Paul Marron is my favorite.

Hope everyone is having a GREAT WEEK. I have been catching up with my reading. I FINALLY mailed all books to waiting winners from blog FB page and all winners of the Jaci Burton books............

If you have never read Carla, I strongly recommend. She does a great job of combining mystery and romance with GREAT characters. Her books are light on sex, but I do not need a scorcher in every read. Have you read her???? Do you have a FAVE???? I honestly cant decide.... I have enjoyed them all....If not check her out. Her website tells you how all books are connected....

Lieutenant Adam "Hawk" is the commanding officer of a Navy SEAL unit. During their last mission one of his team mates Brett "Cutter" Weaver was badly injured and left to die. Hawk is also hurt rescuing him before the place is blown up.

Zoe Weaver and her mother are in California for Brett who is in a coma. Zoe was in an accident when she was 7 that almost severed her leg and has left her from the waist down severely scared. Hawk out of a sense of duty to protect his men and their family insist Zoe and her mom stay at his place. Right off the bat Zoe and Hawk are attracted to each other but they both have alot of baggage from their past that causes insecurities about getting involved in a relationship.

Though out this whole book Hawk has to deal with the fact that someone on his team hurt Brett and tries to find out who of his men could have done something like this. What he finds out is that more than one of his men has secrets and some are not good.

We as the reader get to find out each of the men's secrets and wonder which one could have done it. The author does tell us at the end who does it but we are left hanging with many loose threads.


I am very excited to have Teresa on the blog tomorrow night. AND...I want to thank Cindy, she has opened a whole new world of FANTASTIC writers and GREAT reads for us.......

A PERFECT BLOOD by Kim Harrison

GOOD SATURDAY MORNING TO ALL............


FUN chat last night with Jill Sorenson. We talked books and many other fab topics. The winner of Jill's new release was Nikki from Ramblings of a Chaotic Mind. She has a WONDERFUL blog and FB page. Please check her out.


I have been very slow to read for FUN lately....I am happy to say I read 2 books this week....NOW must return them to the library. So today I wanted to tell you about Kim Harrison's, The Hollow series. This is bk 10, there are also numerous anthologies thrown in.


In this next installment of Rachel Morgan's life, A Perfect Blood was interesting and delved into more of Rachel's true nature. The development of this character and the other primary players has been interesting, sometimes profound, and also some sadness. Tink as usual is his funny quirkey honest self, love how he he tells Rachel how it is. And is always yelling Tinks titties, cracks me up. As always Ivy has Rachal's back. I am very vested in seeing where Kim Harrison is taking this series. I LOVE all the outlying players too. There really is not any romance in this series but it has me hooked none the less. The characters jump off the pages. The dynamic works for me.

Ritually murdered corpses are appearing across Cincinnati, terrifying amalgams of human and other. Pulled in to help investigate by the I.S. and the FIB, former witch turned day-walking demon Rachel Morgan soon realizes a horrifying truth: a human hate group is trying to create its own demons to destroy all Inderlanders, and to do so, it needs her blood.

She’s faced vampires, witches, werewolves, demons, and more, but humanity itself might be her toughest challenge yet.

Cindy was kind enough to share her review of this FAB book with this.....


The heroine Karina Strauss is from the Czech Republic. Her father brought her and her sister to the United States after their mother died. He created a business from the ground up and did well enough to spoil Karina and Sasha. At 18 there father died leaving Karina to raise Sasha. Sasha had always been wild and Karina felt she didn’t do a good enough job protecting her after something happened one night at a club.

Karina is now the owner of a Latin American crafts boutique and often crosses the border into Mexico to buy crafts from the local women. On one such trip she meets Maria and the two became friends. Maria needs work to support her family and begged Karina to get her across the border. Karina managed to get Maria across the border but not before coming under the attention of Adam Cortez who works for Border Patrol and Carlos Moreno who is a Mexican drug lord and also the boyfriend of Kari's now strung out sister.

Moreno demands that Kari smuggle a package for him in exchange for her sister’s freedom. And they also tell Maria she must work for them at the Hotel del Oro where Chey Pena who works for Moreno runs a drug selling business. Adam who had a feeling something was fishy with Kari at the border crossing inspection follows her home and see's Chey leaving and assumes she is working for them but also feel something for her he has felt since the death of his wife at the hands of Moreno.

Adam decides he is going to get close to Kari in hopes that he can get close to Moreno to take him down once and for all not expecting to start to feel something for her.

Ian Foster has been Adam's friend since childhood. They both went through the academy together. Ian left CBP after finding a girl in the desert raped and beaten. He is now on an undercover cop at the Hotel del Oro as a drug addict buying from Chey. We find out when Maria and Ian run into each other that she was the girl he found that night years ago raped and beaten and that neither had forgotten the other.

The deception from all parties runs high. Kari feels she much do the drug run to try and save her sister and get her the help she finally needs. But as with alot of addicts the sister doesn’t want to be saved.


This is in my ever growing pile....AND I had the nerve buy books in Chicago...LMAO.............I have read all of Jill's other books....LOVE her....Thanks to Cindy for helping me......Please come on over tomorrow night and say HI..........AND win a copy.......

Stephanie Boyd is a divorced mother of 2. While on a camping trip in the woods she and the children hear a horrible accident and run to see if they can help. What they walk into is a hijacking of a semi-truck. To make matters worse it seems her ex husband, who works for the local police dept , and the Sheriff are in on the heist.

After seeing the driver shot by the sheriff her ex husband begs Stephanie to take the kids and to try and get away why he distracts them. But after they kill the sheriff they also kill her ex husband. Steph and the kids do manage to get away and make it to the Pennsylvania State Police Department.

It turns out what Steph witnessed was the Russian Mafia robbing a US Treasury shipment. The FBI and Treasury dept have been trying to catch these guys for a while but have never been able to prove that the Russian Mafia is behind the hijackings. Turns out Steph is the first person to ever see them which makes her very a very important witness for both the FBI and the Treasury Dept but also put a bulls eye on her head along with her kids.

FBI agent John Dolton has lost a lot in his life. First his wife and kids and then recently his best friend and partner in the line of duty who was closing in on Russian Mafia. He really wants to bring them down and convinces Steph to help them try and identify who the shooter was. But what they don’t know is that the Mafia has mole inside the U.S. Treasury and also some law enforcement officers in their pockets.

As Steph is the first and only break John has had in solving the case that cost him his family and his partner he makes it his sole mission to make sure nothing happens to these kids and Steph. But keeping his witnesses safe seems impossible when their every move is foreseen by their enemy. John struggles with Steph and her kids at first as they remind him of the family he has lost. After 2 years he never thought he would feel anything again but he finds himself attracted to Steph and warming up to the kids.

The author did a fantastic job of keeping you guessing who the mole was in the dept. I went back and forth so many times on who it was. You were also on the edge of your seat pretty much from beginning to end with all the attempts on their lives. This was my first time reading this authors but it won’t be my last.

CELEBRITY IN DEATH by J.D. Robb

GOOD MORNING!!!! Hope everyone is having a nice one..... I just finished my book. Been in a serious slump. WOOHOO!!!! Leaving on Friday morning for RT, I can't believe it.


I just finished Celebrity in Death by the AMAZING J.D. Robb. I LOVE Roarke, and Eve too. I NEVER get tired of their LOVE story. I have a nightshirt that says I LOVE ROARKE!!! I have had it for years, when my youngest started to read he says....that's not Daddy's name....I laughed and said I KNOW!!!!! LMAO........


Their LOVE story, makes me melt every DAMN book..... I LOVE how she writes them together.... JUST FANFLIPPINTASTIC....*SIGH*.....

Lieutenant Eve Dallas is no party girl, but she's managing to have a reasonably good time at the celebrity-packed bash celebrating The Icove Agenda, a film based on one of her famous cases. It's a little spooky seeing the actress playing her, who looks almost like her long-lost twin. Not as unsettling, though, as seeing the actress who plays Peabody drowned in the lap pool on the roof of the director's luxury building. Now she's at the center of a crime scene-and Eve is more than ready to get out of her high heels and strap on her holster and step into the role she was born to play: cop.








After something like 30 books, I STILL run not walk to read this series. Something about it touches me, their funny and romantic and just AWESOME. I ALWAYS have a hard time falling into the next book because I cant put Eve & Roarke away......
