I hope you all had a fab weekend. I was knee deep in baseball allllll week and ALL day Saturday. Undefeated until the finals..... But GREAT fun. Many more games to be played this month.


I have been wanting to feature this book since I finished it. I waited and bought it in Ohio. Where I had the pleasure of seeing this FANFREAKINTASTIC (I cleaned it up Jill, just for you) lady again. I was introduced to her and the WONDERFUL Kristan Higgins by the ABSOLUTELY AMAZING Robyn Carr. I felt an instant click. She is funny, sweet and so damn kind. Never mind that this B*tch can WRITE.... So when I knew I would see her again, I was sooo thrilled and well she was a big reason I went to Ohio. Great friends and Great authors, what can be better. She actually remembered me tooooo!!!!! And sooo excited because next book is released tomorrow......YAY!!!!!!

I am not sure what I can say that I have not said before about this AMAZING KICK ASS AUTHOR. I laugh sooo hard I cry at her humor. YOU get the TOTAL package in a Jill Shalvis book. HUMOR, ROMANCE, PANTY MELTING HOT MEN AND A WOMAN WE ALL WANT TO BE. The sex is HOT....the love story.........EVEN HOTTER. While reading you are submerged in the world that she has laid out before you. YOU are walking around eating, sleeping and cavorting with her characters. She creates fun...... there is no greater joy than picking up a book and falling into it. Jill Shalvis is one of the masters at accomplishing this. I can not wait to pick up her next book which will be out tomorrow.......

Sherri Hayes

Little humorous background on how we first met Sherri in person.  I knew of Sherri from a group I was in and had been interested in reading her book Behind Closed Doors but as with most of us my TBR pile was out of control and I never got around to buying the book. So when I found out that she was going to be at Lori Foster's event I asked would she have the book there for sale and she said yes. So we agreed we'd see each other there. Soooo on the first night 5 of us from another group were all sitting at a table together and this young woman sits down and is talking to Maureen. We didnt know who she was and we all wanted a picture of us all so everyone threw there phones at her and ask her to take pictures. Here is the shot she took of us : )

After she took the pictures and left we found out who she was and needless to say we were a little embarrassed. Well she ended up coming back to the table and after apologizing, Janet and I started talking to her about her two different series. She also writes a very popular erotic series called Finding Anna. The first book in the series Slave has become a cult classic (in my opinion). Janet read and loved Slave and I was interested in Behind Closed Doors. Here is a shot of Janet and Sherri at the event (and yes we stopped asking her to take our picture and started taking hers) 

She is currently writing the second book in the Daniels Brothers series which will be coming out in 2013. The first book is about Christopher Daniels. Here is the book blurb:

Cindy's Review: 

Elizabeth was in an abusive marriage that ended with her killing her husband in self defense. She has decided to leave Columbus, OH for a little town called Springfield to get away from the bad memories of her marriage and to where no one knew her or about her past. She finds a place with a widow named Jan that owns an historic old home that had been converted into 3 apartments one of which she lives in. 

Chris Daniels is a little bitter after the way his marriage ended. He has sworn off women in the three years since his divorce. So he isn’t too happy when Elizabeth moves into the 2nd floor apartment to his 3rd floor at Jan’s since his libido has decided to come out of slumber at the site of Elizabeth. He notices right off the bat that Elizabeth seems skittish around him but refuses to care. And when he needs help desperately at work since his assistant just up and quit he lets Jan more or less shanghais him into hiring Elizabeth who wants a job. 

These two dance around each other for quite a while, as both of their past issues keep getting in the way of either of them admitting they are attracted to each other. But after Elizabeth gets her first threat Chris’s protective instincts kick in and he wants nothing more than to keep her from harm. As there are a couple of people who would want to harm Elizabeth the mystery of who is doing some of the things keeps you guessing until the end. 

The author did a great job of letting us as the reader watch both of them heal from their past pain. It was especially wonderful to see Elizabeth fight all the verbal abuse messages that constantly played in her head from her dead husband. It’s not an easy thing to get over years of verbal and physical abuse but with her own new found strength and Chris encouragement she manages to do it. 

The secondary characters were also fun to meet. The author gave us a glimpse of the other three brothers which will have their own books.

Long time no blog....... Sorry I have been basking in familial bliss......*snorts* It's has been bat shit crazy. No one told me those adorable babies grow up so damn fast. But I did sneak in reading one of my FAVE authors.


I had the pleasure to meet her in Ohio, and she is lovely. The FABULOUS Jill Shalvis told me to introduce myself....so me being sooooo shy.....*snorts again* I did.....*smiles wide*


The Serendipity Series is AWESOME.....so so so enjoyed it. And very excited that there will be more. YAY!!!!! (thats me excited, need more coffee) I have always LOVED her books..... She was a fave in our store. Was tickled to get to meet her in person. This series has it all............ I love when an author can combine it all......romance, humor, sex, fab plot.....HAWT men.....and the AMAZING women that they wind up with! Carly ranks up there with my FAVE gals............ Jill Shalvis, Robyn Carr, Kristan Higgins, Mariah Stewart and the list grows daily. If you have not checked her out, I suggest STRONLY you run to do so. You will just LOVE her.
